Our work
Fresh off the press
A look at recent jobs from our workshop: band merch, streetwear labels, caps, patches and corporate branding.
How it works
Screen printing
Ink is pushed through a fine mesh stencil with a rubber blade called a squeegee, one colour at a time. It’s the go-to for bulk orders: a low cost per item, prints that last, and rich, vibrant colour.
From artwork to a print that lasts
-
01
Separate
Your design is split into its solid colours. Each colour gets its own screen.
-
02
Burn the screen
UV light hardens the emulsion around your artwork. The rest washes away, leaving an open stencil.
-
03
Line it up
Screens go onto a manual or automatic press and are registered so every colour lands exactly in place.
-
04
Pull the print
A squeegee pulls ink across the mesh, and it transfers cleanly onto the garment underneath.
-
05
Cure
Heat cures the ink in a conveyor dryer, so it’s permanent and wash-fast.
Know your options
The inks
- Water-based
- Soft, breathable feel on cotton
- Plastisol
- Heavy, opaque, the industry standard
- Solvent
- For plastics, metal and glass
The mesh
A screen is a fine woven mesh, counted in threads per centimetre. Fewer threads let more ink through.
How it works
Embroidery
Instead of printing ink onto a shirt, a machine stitches coloured thread straight into the fabric to build a raised, durable design.
From artwork to stitched detail
-
01
Digitise & sample
Your artwork becomes a stitch file. We choose thread colours and stitch a sample to check the detail.
-
02
Hoop & set up
The garment is hooped with stabiliser, lined up, and the stitch file is loaded onto the machine.
-
03
Stitch
The machine stitches the design one colour at a time, following the digitised paths.
-
04
Finish & check
Loose threads and backing are trimmed, and every piece is checked before packing.
Building a badge
The border
- Merrowed
- A thick, wrapped 3D edge for circles, rectangles and shields
- Laser cut
- A flat, heat-sealed edge for custom and irregular shapes
The coverage
The twill shows through. Best for simple text and textured contrast.
Every millimetre is thread. A heavy, premium, rigid finish.
